NASA and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Foundation recently announced three winners of the Future Engineers “Two for the Crew” Challenge. The challenge tasked K-12 students to develop items for astronauts to use while living and working in space by inventing a multifunctional object that combined two items into one. The winning designs will be 3D printed onboard the International Space Station using the the ISS National Lab-sponsored Additive Manufacturing Facility.
