NASA Destination Station 2019 Student Event

9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. EDTDestination Station is a national awareness campaign and traveling exhibit hosted by NASA and the ISS National Lab that promotes research opportunities and educates communities about activities onboard the ISS. The morning presentation will include an overview of the ISS and will highlight opportunities to leverage the orbiting laboratory for research to benefit life on Earth. A NASA astronaut will also provide an informational and inspirational talk about living and conducting research on the ISS.
At this free event, afternoon roundtable sessions will provide students of all ages with an opportunity to dive deeper into certain focus areas in discussions with experts from NASA and/or the ISS National Lab. Three student roundtables will be offered covering business, engineering, and life sciences.

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EDTJoin NASA and the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory to learn how companies in diverse industries, such as Eli Lilly & Co. and Target Corporation, and academic institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh are working with the ISS National Lab to leverage the unique conditions on the orbiting laboratory for valuable research and technology development. The “ISS Driven to Explore” mobile exhibit will be parked outside the college, providing a multimedia experience created to immerse visitors in the story of NASA and the ISS National Lab. A NASA astronaut will also join the discussion to provide an informational and inspirational talk about living and conducting research on the ISS!

As a commercial innovation manager at the ISS National Lab, Clemens leads partnership development with life science companies and is passionate about helping companies use space-based research to find innovative solutions to their Earth-based problems.
