We Connect People with the International Space Station
Space Station Explorers is a community of educators, learners, and organizations that make STEM learning fun and exciting through connections with the International Space Station (ISS) National Lab. We collaborate with many partner organizations on innovative programs and resources for K-12 students, educators, and the public, including opportunities to design experiments to launch to space!
How to Be a Space Station Explorer
Start Simple:
If anything on this site sparks your interest, just follow your curiosity! Discover the experiments and technologies currently on the ISS through short videos, articles, and interactives. Educators may also be interested in our programs and lesson plans.
Make and Do:
Try some simple hands-on activities in class, at home, or in other settings such as museums, libraries, and afterschool programs. Connect with programs that let you grow space-flown tomato seeds, enjoy amazing photos taken in orbit, and use amateur radio to talk directly with an astronaut on the ISS!
Aim Higher:
With time and teamwork, your achievements can really take off! Our more intense programs give students opportunities to train like an astronaut, learn to program microgravity robots, and even design experiments to fly to space! Educators can get more involved by joining our community of Space Station Ambassadors.
