Space Center Houston is a leading science and space learning center operated by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Manned Space Flight Education Foundation. With more than 1 million visitors annually, it is one of Houston’s top attractions and the area’s #1 attraction for international visitors. It is the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center and a Smithsonian Affiliate.
Space Center Houston offers a rich array of learning opportunities for teachers and students, using space exploration to inspire wonder and interest in science and math. Our programs, designed with evidence-supported learning strategies, inspire young people to choose careers in STEM.
The center features more than 400 space artifacts, permanent and traveling exhibits, attractions and theaters related to the exciting future and remarkable past of America’s human space-flight program. It has the world’s largest collection of moon rocks and lunar samples for public view. Guests get glimpses behind the scenes of NASA Johnson Space Center, known around the world as the home of NASA Mission Control, International Space Station Mission Control, and astronaut training.
