Through this online program, you can learn about earth and space science, and even take a virtual mission to the International Space Station! Participate in realistic training and in-orbit exercises, observe Earth from space, and experience life as an astronaut. VHS Learning developed this program in collaboration with astronauts and scientists. High school course credit is available for both semester and full-year programs.
Offered at three levels:
1. Earth and Space Systems Science – a full-year science course, offering 1.0 credits, starting each September. Starting from the farthest reaches of space and time, and journeying toward Earth, students will investigate Earth and space science, develop a deep appreciation of Earth as a system, and then consider human impact on this system. Grades 9-12
2. Science from Space – a 15-week full semester course, offering 0.5 credits as an integrated STEM course, operated twice during a normal school year. In this semester-long science course classes of students go on a simulated mission to space. Grades 7-10
3. Mission to the ISS Free Version – Earth and Space Science lessons where students become “cadets” and view Earth from space using the same tools currently used by ISS astronauts.
