In this NASA STEMonstration, International Space Station (ISS) crew member Mark Vande Hei demonstrates Newton’s third law of motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example, when you bounce a basketball on the ground, the force of the basketball pushing down to the ground is equal and opposite to the force of the basketball pushing back up when it bounces. In this demonstration, Mark Vande Hei shows equal and opposite force pairs in the microgravity environment of the ISS.
